The Osprey have returned!
Our pair of Osprey has returned to the nest the birds occupied last year.
This year should be particularly exciting because of a few "upgrades" we made over the winter. First, we built a new and sturdier platform for the nest, which the Osprey continue to enlarge. We also upgraded our video camera system for a steadier shot with better resolution. (The new camera will be operational soon.)
Osprey Factoid: Experienced ospreys will typically lay three eggs each season in late April to early May. Both adults will incubate the eggs; however, the females do most of the incubating while the males supply the majority of the food to the family. A clutch of eggs incubates about 40 days before hatching.
