New Hampshire winters are tough and can sometimes put a serious strain on
a household's energy budget. PSNH established the Neighbor Helping Neighbor
fund in 1986 in an effort to assist customers who can't afford to pay their
electric bill but do not qualify for federally funded fuel programs.
By adding an extra dollar to their electric bill payment, or by sending a contribution
directly to the Neighbor Helping Neighbor fund, customers help other customers
in need. In 1992, this program expanded to include other New Hampshire utilities
statewide, and now helps more than 1,100 families with financial hardships each
year.
To make a contribution directly to the fund, make your check or money order payable to Neighbor Helping Neighbor, and mail to:
Neighbor Helping Neighbor Fund
P.O. Box 3804
Manchester, NH 03105-3804
All contributions are tax deductible, and 100 percent of your contribution will be used to help your neighbors in need. Every donation makes a difference.
Applications for assistance through the fund are available through the Community
Action Program agencies throughout the state.
