Meter Reader Safety

MeterThe safety of our customers and employees is our priority. Eliminating hazards in a meter reader's work environment includes safe access to the electric meter at your home or business. The following guidelines help assure safe access to meter locations:

  • Keep the area in and around the electric meter clear of debris and obstacles. This includes meters located indoors and outdoors.
  • Ensure decks and stairs are in good/safe condition.
  • Remove brush, plants, or shrubs that may be hazardous to our meter readers. Overgrown vegetation can cause scrapes, cuts, and tripping hazards.
  • If you have a dog, please be sure it is secured or restrained in an area away from the meter. Dogs are protective of their home and family members and can be unpredictable.
  • In the winter months, please ensure that the path to the meter is clear of snow and ice.

In order to provide accurate billing, please provide/ensure safe access to your meter for our meter readers.

Thank you for your help. Together we make safety top priority.
