Wind Farms
Large clusters of modern wind turbines (i.e. wind farms) are capable of generating substantial amounts of electricity. The turbines used at a wind farm in Lempster, NH, are rated at two megawatts each, for a combined 24 megawatts of potential electricity output.
According to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), New Hampshire has ideal conditions for wind farms in certain areas of the state. The best wind-power areas in New Hampshire are on the ridge crests located in the White Mountain region and certain areas in the western part of the state.
