PSNH’s Clean Energy Plan

Practicality. It’s more than a value our parents taught us.
It’s the key to building a cleaner energy future.

Like many other states and nations, New Hampshire has set the goal of reducing its total carbon emissions 80 percent by the year 2050. As the state’s largest electric utility, PSNH is taking practical steps forward to help make this goal a reality.

Why practical? Because the only solutions that will be realized on a large enough scale to effect real change are the ones that are achievable, affordable, and sustainable for the future.

By focusing on practicality, PSNH is creating model clean-energy solutions that individuals, businesses, and communities can learn from and easily adapt for their own uses—helping New Hampshire to act broadly, quickly, and intelligently to transform its energy landscape.

Four Key Strategies

PSNH’s energy plan includes a wide range of actions to help New Hampshire reduce its energy consumption, and build the renewable energy resources and advanced electric infrastructure needed so that the state can sustainably transition away from its existing fleet of base-load fossil fuel power plants.

These actions are grouped under four key strategies:
  1. Increase Customers’ Energy Savings
  2. Advance Renewable Energy
  3. Green PSNH’s Business
  4. Educate & Plan for the Future
