Our Responsibility

PSNH, along with its parent company Northeast Utilities (NU), is committed to protecting the environment, and our employees are expected to understand and comply with our environmental policies:

  • In conducting our operations, we will maintain compliance with both the letter and spirit of environmental protection laws and our own procedures.
  • We will demonstrate environmental leadership by pursuing economically, socially and environmentally sustainable initiatives that protect the environment and that are consistent with our corporate vision.
  • We will establish specific objectives and measurable targets that promote continuous environmental improvement, and publicly report our environmental performance.
  • We will practice environmental stewardship by eliminating or reducing environmental impacts resulting from our operational activities.

Today’s Actions Help Shape Our Future

Northeast Utilities (NU), the parent company of PSNH, has published its inaugural 2008 Corporate Social Responsibility Report outlining its efforts to manage NU and PSNH in a sustainable manner. The report describes the actions we are taking today that are shaping a sustainable future. It highlights our achievements and establishes a baseline from which we will grow and improve as we continue to evolve from an energy service provider to a leading provider of sustainable energy solutions. Learn more at our Corporate Social Responsibility Report site, or read the full report.

With Your Help

By saving energy at home, you can help protect the environment as well. You might not think that replacing a lightbulb or turning the thermostat down a few degrees will significantly reduce your energy bill or protect the environment, but every little bit helps. Read our Start Saving: Today page to find ways you can save energy and help the environment.
