Statewide Electric Assistance Program

Income-eligible PSNH customers may qualify for a discount off their monthly electric bill through the New Hampshire Electric Assistance Program (EAP). The level of discount depends on household income, household size and electricity usage. (For program details, click here to view our EAP Brochure.)

In addition to PSNH, participating EAP suppliers are Liberty Utilities, New Hampshire Electric Cooperative, and Unitil. Please note: The EAP discount does not apply to the Supplier Services portion of an electric bill when a customer chooses an independent supplier for their electricity needs.

Residential customers may apply for the Electric Assistance Program (EAP) by contacting one of the Community Action Agencies (CAA) located throughout the state.

The CAA will determine eligibility by total household income and the number of people living in your home. The table below provides general guidelines. However, it is best to call your local CAA because there are adjustments to some types of income.

Family Size Gross Annual Income
1 $23,340
2 $31,460
3 $39,580
4 $47,700
5 $55,820
6 $63,940
7 $72,060
8 $80,180
