PSNH and Junior Achievement of New Hampshire
For 12 years, PSNH has helped students learn economics and workforce
skills by supporting Junior Achievement. PSNH employees regularly volunteer
in classrooms and take lead roles on the New Hampshire Advisory Board
and Council. In the past, PSNH has supported events such as the Mini
Indy Grand Prix, Ground Hog Job Shadow Day, Bowl-A-Thon and a Volunteer
Recognition Luncheon.
PSNH offers additional support to Junior Achievement by sponsoring the Manchester Monarchs Hockey Team "Power Play." Junior Achievement receives money every time the Monarchs go into power play. They receive even more money when they score during a power play.
PSNH and UNH’s School of Engineering
There is no doubt that the future of technology and engineering currently resides in the resident halls of many college campuses. Naturally, PSNH is enthusiastic about assisting and encouraging today’s students who are studying engineering. Consequently, throughout the years, the University of New Hampshire’s School of Engineering has been a recipient of various financial gifts.
Currently, PSNH is sponsoring two UNH engineering students with multi-year scholarships totally $3,000. The students complete their respective programs in 2009. In addition to these academic scholarships, PSNH supports summer interns from the School of Engineering. The internships last two years and the students are given upwards of $5,000 to help pay for their higher education in addition to their internship wages. Indeed, both programs are mutually beneficial, and a clear investment in PSNH’s future.
