New Hampshire Made, Inc. was formed in 1997 in cooperation with the Department
of Agriculture to collectively promote New Hampshire-made products. PSNH was
one of the founding members and contributed to the funding needed to get the
organization started. PSNH has served on the board since its inception and
has helped underwrite several important initiatives.
The purpose of New Hampshire Made is to use the combined resources
of its members to increase the sales of New Hampshire goods. The organization
has established a central brand which gives members greater visibility and
marketability. In addition, New Hampshire Made operates two stores
and a website to provide a retail channel for members. They produce a products
directory to reach wholesale markets and provide a network of expertise and
support that members can turn to for advice.
New Hampshire Made has grown from just seven members when it began
in 1997 to more than 600 members today. Its retail stores now generate over
$250,000 in sales. And its new brand identity system "New Hampshire's
Own" is being studied by other states as a model marketing program.
