Public Service of New Hampshire's Economic and Community Development
Division continued a tradition of partnering with the state on economic
development efforts by sponsoring bus tours for commercial and real estate
brokers.
PSNH has sponsored three tours to date; the North Country Tour covered the
Berlin-Lancaster-Colebrook in October 2003, the North Conway tour covered
the North Conway-Littleton region in December 2003, and the Upper Valley
tour covered the Claremont-Lebanon-Hanover area in April 2004.
The tour is designed to provide southern New Hampshire real estate brokers
with information about available commercial and industrial properties in
the North Country and Upper Valley regions.
The North Country tour included a stop at the Bass Shoe Tree building in Berlin,
the North Conway tour visited the North Conway Business Park in Conway, and
the Upper Valley bus tour included visits to the American Brush building,
the downtown Claremont mills, and the Centerra Resource Park. Local economic
development officials led each of the tours highlighting the individual business
initiatives taking place in their cities and towns.
"Public Service of New Hampshire has invested in supporting economic development
initiatives throughout the state and worked with the Division of Economic Development
to help promote economic opportunity for all," Public Service of New Hampshire
Economic and Community Development Manager Pat McDermott added. "These
tours are a real eye opener for brokers who've never had the pleasure of
learning what real business opportunities exist for their clients in other areas
of the state."
In addition to being brokers learning about additional opportunities north
of Concord, local communities are benefiting from the exposure as well. Senator
John Gallus, a Berlin senator and real estate broker, said, "More brokers
saw our property in one day than in an entire year."
